Duvel Moortgat Brewery
Duvel Moortgat brewery was founded by Jan-Leonard Moortgat and his wife in 1871. The establishment of the brewery started out as a trial and error. But it did not take awhile before the brewery’s top fermented beers gained notoriety within and beyond the city of Steenhuffel, Belgium. Early batches of beers were inspired by the success of English ales in the wake of First World War. The new beer named ‘Victory Ale’ has spun more success for the brewery. Soon, Duvel Moortgar brewery gained international recognition. By late 1990s, the brewery began exporting varieties of beers across different counties.
