Allagash brewery was solely created in 1995 by Rob Tod from Portland, Maine. From all of his travels to different places, Tod became inspired by the fine quality of Belgian style beers. He strongly believed that this fine quality of Belgian beers needs to be shared with beer enthusiasts in America. In a 15-barrel brew house, the Allagash brewery first produced the Allagash White, derived from the ‘white’ Belgium beers, which turned out to be a success. This first successful beer was followed by subsequent success of beer production that heavily depends on wide variety of malts, Belgian yeasts and traditional sugar.
