    Castle Brewery is a family brewery in Belgium that was founded by farmer, Amandus Van Honsebrouck. His son took over the brewery in1865. As several family generations take over, the brewery continues to expand. By 1930, the brewery had a new and bigger malt house, fermentation room and bottling room that focus on low fermentation type of beers such as the bock, export and lager. In 1955, under Luc Van Honsebrouck’s management, the brewery stopped producing lager and emphasized the brewery of Old Flemish Brown Bacchus. By 1958, Lambic and Kriek beers became part of Castle Brewery. In 1970, Castle Brewery Van Honsebrouck became the second largest gueuze beer producer in Belgium.
