Jolly Pumpkin is a microbrewery founded by Ron Jeffries in 2004. The brewery is located in Dexter, Michigan but it has two pubs with one in Ann Arbor and the other in Traverse City. Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales is devoted to crafting outstanding flavors of ales. The brewery practices oak barrel aging, open fermentation and bottle conditioning. Brettanomyces and wine barrels are often used. Jolly Pumpkin Brewery is known for its rusty country style of beers designed to soothe craft beer enthusiasts. Popular beers from the brewery generally have flavors that are often described as earthy, leathery and funky.
