Shipyard Brewing Company is a microbrewery established in Portland, Oregon. The company’s operation began in 1994 after it was founded by entrepreneur Fred Forsley and brewer Alan Pugsley. What started out as a humble beginning soon began to expand to a production of over 81,000 barrels of aged ale and nearly 3,000 barrels of soda. By 2008, Shipyard Brewing Company has been distributing beers to 40 states. Beers like Export Ale, Old Thumper, Black IPA and Monkey Fist IPA have made it quite popular in the craft beer community. Shipyard Brewing Company is now the 15th largest microbrewery in the United States.
