Westmalle Brewery is a Belgian Trappist brewery in Westmalle, Belgium. It was established in 1836 by the Trappist Abbey of Westmalle. Monks who turned out to have a natural talent and skill for brewing fine flavors of beers were responsible for the creation of beer specialties that helped the brewery’s expansion. Westmalle Brewery uses water from Diestian layer within the monastery, barley malt, liquid sugar, Humulus lupulus part of the hops and Saccharomyces yeast to create and produce fine aroma and flavors of beers. Out of these ingredients, three types of beers – Westmalle Tripel, Dubbel and Extra, are regularly created and produced.
