"RED" is an homage to the 1986 cult classic film "RAD". The story of a small town kid, taking on the best in the world in the sport of BMX (very similar to Craft breweries taking on the Big brewers of the world). The movie, while not a box office success help launched the sport of BMX and BMX Freestyle into mainstream America, and helped pave the way for the X-Games.
The beer is a classic American Amber Style Ale. The American Amber ale or Red ale as it is sometimes called is one of the most widely enjoyed styles throughout the United States and serves as a cornerstone style of the American craft brewing revolution. American Ambers are darker in color than their pale ale cousins, the presence of caramel and crystal malts lending a toasted, toffee flavor, along with the perception of a fuller body when compared to beers without such malts. Amber beer showcases a medium-high to high malt character with medium to low caramel character derived from the use of roasted crystal malts. The American Amber is characterized by Willamette Hops an American-variety of hops lend to the amber ale notes and have a mild herbaceous character. Often described as spicy, peppery, or earthy to balance the sweetness of the malt.
